System One has multiple openings for Design Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural) to support commercial nuclear projects. Remote with occasional travel to project sites/nuclear facilities.

These roles involve the evaluation, design, and modification of mechanical systems at commercial nuclear power plants. Candidates must be eligible to receive badging at nuclear facilities. Positions are based in Naperville, IL or Atlanta, GA, with remote work options available depending on candidate qualifications. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Key Requirements:
2+ years of experience developing Design Change Packages (DCPs) for commercial nuclear facilities.
Proficiency with nuclear industry standard design change procedures.
Experience evaluating systems such as turbine, generator, main power transformer, cooling, and control systems.
Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET-accredited program.
5+ years of engineering experience required; 10+ years preferred.
Must be eligible for nuclear plant badging.
Familiarity with nuclear QA standards and engineering change control procedures.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the creation of detailed nuclear plant design modifications, including calculations, specifications, and engineering analyses.
Conduct system evaluations and onsite walkdowns as needed to inform design activities.
Provide technical expertise on mechanical design and construction methods for nuclear facilities.
Review and validate complex engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Analyze and interpret engineering data, apply industry codes and standards, and recommend practical solutions.
Collaborate across engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
