NOTE: We are open to candidates who want to relocate for a long term contract role to Minnesota. The position offers Per Diem + hourly rate 
Pay : $65.00 - $73.00 per hour 

Job Description : 
Our client is seeking a Project Manager II to support capital projects at the corporate office in Minneapolis, MN. This role will be responsible for managing large-scale projects from initiation through closeout, including long-term planning, cost estimation, resource deployment, and execution oversight.

The Project Manager II will play a critical role in capital asset management, including supporting license extensions from 60 to 80 years, overseeing capital improvements, and ensuring proper asset depreciation alignment. This individual will lead projects valued at $1M+ and work cross-functionally to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Lead cradle-to-grave project management for capital projects exceeding $1M

Develop and solidify long-term project plans and improve project cost estimates

Coordinate deployment of personnel and internal resources to projects

Manage contract initiation and vendor oversight

Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and financial performance

Conduct risk identification and mitigation planning

Escalate issues and present recommendations to senior leadership for approval

Interface with maintenance, engineering, controls, finance, supply chain, and external vendors

Participate in weekly stakeholder meetings and status updates

Conduct field/plant observations to support implementation and issue resolution

Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards

Work Environment & Schedule
Standard business hours

During outages: minimum 60 hours per week (12-hour days, 6–7 days per week)

Occasional field/plant visits required

Rare travel may be required (reimbursed at cost)

Non-local candidates must relocate at their own expense

Required Qualifications
5–7 years of cradle-to-grave project management experience

Experience managing projects valued at $1M+

Strong financial oversight and budget management experience

Ability to operate in highly regulated environments

U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
Nuclear industry background (strongly preferred)

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background preferred

Civil or construction experience helpful

ABET-accredited degree desirable

Ex-Navy (Submarine/Nuclear) experience considered

PMP certification strongly preferred

Experience with SAP, Unifier, UKG Workday, MS Project, P6/Primavera

SRO certification or plant licensing knowledge beneficial

Experience with WECTEC or Client is a plus

Proven risk management and problem-solving capabilities

Comfortable working both in office and field environments

Able to obtain and maintain nuclear clearance

Stable work history with progressive project leadership experience
