Senior Planner / Scheduler
Location: Aiken, SC
Work Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:45 PM (Monday–Thursday)
Employment Type: Contract (Base Year + Two Option Periods)
Overtime: 2080 Straight Time / 400 OT
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Clearance: No clearance required at time of hire

Position Overview
The Senior Planner / Scheduler is responsible for organizing, developing, analyzing, and maintaining project controls, financial analysis, and estimating applications necessary to monitor project objectives and prepare status and management reports. This role supports cost and schedule control across the lifecycle of complex projects and work activities.
Under limited supervision, the position performs moderately complex planning and scheduling activities and may assume a lead role for a large project, facility, department, or program.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, analyze, implement, and maintain logic-driven, resource-loaded integrated schedules (short-, mid-, and long-range planning)
Formulate schedule logic to meet baseline milestones and award fee objectives
Analyze schedule performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions
Conduct variance analysis against scheduled baselines
Support cost and schedule control throughout project lifecycle
Lead schedule review meetings and participate in Plan of the Day (POD) meetings
Interface regularly with all levels of management
Recommend process improvements to maximize schedule and resource utilization
Provide guidance and oversight to planning and scheduling personnel
Support Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) requirements
Education & Experience Requirements
One of the following is required:
Master’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technical field, or related area + 2 years of practical experience
Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of practical experience
Associate degree + 8 years of practical experience
High school diploma + 12 years of relevant experience
Required Skills
Proficiency in automated accounting, budgeting, cost management, and estimating systems
Strong understanding of project management and tactical cost/schedule control
Knowledge of operations, maintenance, project startup, and construction
Demonstrated conceptual estimating skills
Ability to coordinate with engineers and technical personnel
Knowledge of field construction techniques, labor, and equipment requirements
Ability to quantify work condition impacts on cost
Strong analytical and variance reporting capabilities
Preferred / Nice to Have
Previous DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years
Experience applying EVMS cost and schedule requirements
Experience developing and maintaining moderately complex plans and schedules
Travel Requirements
Travel may be required to attend NNSA Criticality Safety Support Group (CSSG) meetings.
Travel must be fully approved by the hiring manager 30 days in advance.
Reimbursement will follow SRNS Travel Compensation Schedule (SRNS-MS-2008-00024 Rev 20).
