GEM is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Representative to support a large lab pack project at the Portsmouth Site in Piketon, Ohio. This short-term role (likely 3-4 weeks) will provide Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) oversight during project mobilization and field execution.
The H&S Representative will assist with Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) planning, safety oversight, and OSHA compliance while supporting project personnel throughout pre-mobilization and onsite operations.

Position Overview
•Support EH&S oversight during project mobilization and onsite lab pack activities.
•Assist in the development and review of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for project tasks.
•Participate in the project kickoff meeting and pre-mobilization planning activities.
•Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements.
•Monitor field operations to ensure safe work practices and hazard controls are implemented.
•Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project safety briefings as needed.
•Assist with required online safety training and site onboarding requirements.
•Identify hazards and support implementation of corrective or preventive safety measures.
•Serve as a safety resource for project personnel during the lab pack operation.

Minimum Qualifications
•Experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) programs or oversight.
•Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and hazard mitigation practices.
•Ability to obtain site access/badging for a federal facility.
•Strong communication and field coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications
•Active HAZWOPER certification (preferred but not required).
•Experience supporting hazard assessments or AHA/JHA planning.
•Prior experience supporting DOE, industrial, environmental, or waste handling operations.
