UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Graphic Artist opportunity for our customer in MacDill AFB, FL to support the HQ USSOCOM and HQ SOCCENT location.

DUTIES
The Graphic Artist at the U.S. Special Operations Command Headquarters (SOCOM) will support the commander's visual communication needs by creating high-quality graphics, multimedia content, and digital assets. This position requires an individual with strong design skills, a deep understanding of military-specific branding and communication strategies, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. The graphic artist will be responsible for creating materials that align with SOCOM's mission, enhance messaging, and effectively communicate key information to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, military personnel, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

Graphic Design and Multimedia Production
Develop and produce high-quality graphic design materials, including the USSOCOM official publications and magazines, logos, posters, banners, presentations, digital signage, and other visual media to support the command's internal and external communications.
Create compelling visuals for digital platforms, including websites, social media, and multimedia content such as videos, infographics, and animations, to communicate SOCOM’s mission, objectives, and key events.
Collaborate with Public Affairs, and Visual Information teams to ensure that designs align with SOCOM's branding, style guides, and messaging strategies.

Branding and Visual Identity
• Maintain and update SOCOM’s visual identity, ensuring all design work adheres to command-specific standards and guidelines.
• Ensure consistency and clarity in the use of SOCOM logos, emblems, fonts, colors, and overall design aesthetics across all materials, including official documents, briefings, and promotional materials.
• Design graphics for presentations used by senior leadership, ensuring they meet the highest standards of clarity, professionalism, and military decorum.

Creative Consultation and Design Collaboration
• Work closely with senior leaders, the Director of Public Affairs, and other stakeholders to understand the communication needs and translate them into effective visual designs.
• Provide creative direction and innovative ideas for special projects, including campaign visuals, event branding, and internal/external communication strategies.
• Provide expertise in visual storytelling to support internal morale and cohesion efforts, as well as high-visibility public-facing communications.

Video and Animation Production
• Assist with the creation of animated graphics and motion graphics for briefings, videos, and social media content, ensuring that all visual elements are cohesive and consistent with the command’s objectives.

Ad-hoc Design Requests
• Respond to ad-hoc design requests in support of various events, presentations, and operational requirements, ensuring that materials are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks based on urgency, scope, and impact on mission goals.

Collaboration with External Entities
• Work with other U.S. SOF military branches, interagency partners, and international organizations on joint graphic design projects, ensuring that designs comply with all relevant guidelines and protocols.
• Coordinate with contractors, printers, and vendors to ensure that design projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.

Training and Mentorship
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other graphic designers, sharing expertise on design best practices, software tools, and military-specific design standards.
• Participate in cross-training with other departments to ensure a collaborative approach to communication and content creation.

Software and Tool Utilization
• Utilize industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D, etc.) to produce high-quality designs and multimedia content.
• Leverage and incorporate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools to create and manage high-quality visual content in a high-demand military strategic environment.
• Stay up to date with emerging design technologies, trends, and tools, incorporating new techniques to enhance design quality and efficiency.

General Support
• Perform any additional tasks and support emerging requirements as necessary to support the Public Affairs section mission and command communication objectives, provided those tasks align with the scope of this contract.


Experience:
Possess active Secret Clearance
Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or another relevant field
At least ten years of professional graphic design experience executing strategic communication campaigns in support of government or industry objectives.
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting senior leaders (at the CEO / General Officer Level) with graphical representation materials.
Minimum 2 years of experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite
Minimum 1 year of experience with prompt engineering for generative AI tools used to create digital graphics and data-driven visualizations.
Minimum 3 years of experience adhering to visual information and communication standards, such as style guides and/or branding guidelines.

Work Hours:
Normal workdays are Monday through Friday except US Federal Holidays. USSOCOM and SOCCENT core hours are from 0900 to 1500 daily.
