Utilizing proven state-of-the-art methodologies NSSS components are engineered to nuclear industry standards. The person in this position will perform a range of activities associated with the design, analysis, and manufacture of pressure vessels, related components, reactor vessel internals, and/or supports in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), Section III, and applicable regulatory requirements. All work within the NSSS Engineering design organization is completed under ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and respective U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and review engineering specifications, reports, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical aspects of components, systems, and structures associated with the NSSS.
Maintain and revise computer-aided design (CAD) models using Siemens NX and related engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 standards and best practices.
Utilize the results from BPVC Section III evaluations to optimize component design.
Collaborate with peers in different organizations and engage in the engineering change control process to ensure design decisions are well-communicated and well-understood.
Review design work of other groups (within and without the NuScale organization) to gain and maintain an understanding of how components, systems, and structures will work together.
Speak to the design of NSSS Components in discussions with manufacturing partners to ensure design intent is maintained while fabrication of components is considered.
Perform other duties as assigned.
