Engineer responsible for Fire Protection Design. Below job requirements/preferred requirements relate to job tasks required for this position.
Minimum Job Requirements:
• Five or more years of progressive and relevant experience in Fire Sprinkler System Design.
• Experience implementing programs and procedures to ensure employee and facility safety is in accordance with all OSHA, NFPA and Life Safety Code requirements.
• Ability to plan, self-perform tasks and multi-task on multiple projects.
• The position requires the ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems.
• Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation.
• Ability to develop and maintain historical information.
• Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.
• Ability to follow procedures and work within a rigorous work process.
Preferred Job Requirements:
• A Professional Engineering License (PE).
• Proficiency using hydraulic calculation software (HASS, etc).
• DOE work experience.
Education
BA/BS Degree in an Engineering discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years fire protection working experience.
Level 2 - BA/BS Degree plus 5-9 years of direct experience required, or a MA or MS with 5-9 years of experience.
Level 3 – BA/BS Degree plus 10-14 years of direct experience required, or a MA or MS with 10-13 years of experience.
Level 4 – BA/BS Degree plus 15-20 years of direct experience required, or a MA or MS with 14-18 years of experience.
Level 5 - BA/BS Degree plus 20 years of direct experience required, or a MA or MS with 19 years of experience.
