Engineering Manager
Hydrogen Refueling Facility

Work Location: Baytown, TX
Estimated Start Date: 5/4/2026
Estimated Duration of Work Assignment: Long Term (initially one year with annual extensions anticipated)
Hours: 50 hours/week (5x10s schedule)
Pay Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate's requested rate
PD: $178/day
Mob/ Demob: $500/each way

Position Details: The Engineering Manager will oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation using project management tools. Lead technical reviews, inspections, and handover processes to achieve safe, reliable plant startup. Report technical status, issues, and mitigations to Project Director and senior leadership.
Resource Management: Coordinate with engineering teams and other departments to ensure appropriate resources are available. Lead project team meetings to facilitate communication and collaboration across various engineering disciplines and support construction progress with engineering oversight, risk identification/mitigation, and commissioning preparation.
Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation plans. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership: Motivate and encourage team members, providing direction and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Education Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or related Engineering discipline (Must be a degreed engineer with engineering management or project management experience and must be able to manage an engineering team). 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in large-scale industrial/energy projects, with at least 5-8 years in a managerial/supervisory role. This role requires site presence, leadership in a dynamic construction environment, and the ability to drive technical decisions under schedule pressure.
Preferred: Individuals who have done ground-up construction. Hydrogen refueling a plus.
Prior LNG, combined cycle builds, refining or renewable/electrolyzer plants a plus.

Physical Requirements: The role is leadership-focused, involving significant office time, meetings, and oversight, but also requires regular presence on an active, large-scale construction site. Candidate must have the ability to walk and stand for extended periods over uneven, rough terrain, have the ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders, be able to tolerate work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, dust), loud noise, and vibrations. Must be able to lift/carry 50lb, as well as wear appropriate PPE when required. Must maintain sufficient stamina, balance, and agility to navigate the site safely without undue fatigue or risk.
