Procurement Material Handler
Work Location: TVA Fleet Center - Georgetown, TN (approximately 30 miles northeast of Chattanooga)
Estimated Duration: Initially One Year with annual renewals likely
TVA Per Diem: $1,500 / month

Project Details: The Procurement Material Handler will support TVA's Fleet Center operations by establishing and managing an efficient material handling process and storage system within the TVA warehouse. This role requires a self-starter with the vision and initiative to assess current warehouse conditions, engage with vendors, and implement improved processes for receiving, organizing, and distributing materials.

Responsibilities:
• Assess existing warehouse layout and material storage conditions; develop and implement improved material handling processes
• Establish and maintain an organized storage system for fleet-related procurement materials and inventory
• Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials and shipments from vendors
• Coordinate with vendors and procurement team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials
• Track inventory levels and identify reorder needs; maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and accessible for distribution
• Communicate with internal stakeholders on material availability, shortages, and delivery status
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase warehouse efficiency and accuracy

Requirements:
• Proven experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or procurement support
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement warehouse storage and material flow processes
• Experience working directly with vendors and managing incoming shipments
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
• Proficient in inventory management systems or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior TVA or utility/energy sector experience
• Experience standing up or reorganizing a warehouse operation from the ground up
• Familiarity with procurement workflows and vendor coordination in an industrial setting

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 - 60 lbs.
