Fire Protection Design Engineer - Oak Ridge, TN

Join a team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex. This full-time role focuses on fire sprinkler system design, safety compliance, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Design fire sprinkler systems and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and Life Safety Code standards
Prepare, interpret, and maintain technical drawings and operating documents
Coordinate document verification/validation with technical and operations teams
Support safety programs and maintain accurate project records

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (ABET-accredited) in Fire Protection, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering + 5+ years of experience
Experience in fire sprinkler system design and safety compliance standards
Strong communication, multitasking, and documentation skills
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance

Preferred:

Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience with hydraulic calculation software (e.g., HASS)
DOE project experience
