NOTE: We are open to candidates who want to relocate for a long term contract role to Minnesota. The position offers Per Diem + hourly rate for non local candidates​​​​​​​
Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing capital projects within nuclear power plant environments, including facility upgrades, equipment replacements, and system modifications. This role manages projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and business stakeholders, along with strict compliance with safety and nuclear access protocols.

Job Responsibilities

Manage full lifecycle of capital projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout
Develop and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
Coordinate with engineering, construction, maintenance, and internal stakeholders to execute projects
Monitor financials, track progress, and ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as necessary
Lead project meetings, provide status updates, and present for approvals
Initiate and manage vendor sourcing, contracts, and procurement activities
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and nuclear facility requirements
Conduct field observations and support issue resolution within plant environments
Contribute to long-term planning, cost estimation, and continuous process improvements
Collaborate within a cross-functional team to support organizational goals
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Nuclear Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
5–7 years of project management experience, including managing projects valued at $1 million or more
Experience in nuclear power, utilities, or power generation environments strongly preferred
Knowledge of project management methodologies, including PMI and PMBOK practices
Experience with tools such as SAP, Primavera (P6), MS Project, Unifier, or Workday preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
PMP certification preferred
Construction or engineering project experience preferred
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain unescorted nuclear facility access, including passing background checks and fitness-for-duty requirements
Work Experience

Experience managing large-scale capital or infrastructure projects required
Prior experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors required
Nuclear, utility, or industrial project experience strongly preferred
