We are seeking a hands-on Civil Engineer with deep expertise in concrete construction and rebar installation to support a moisture separator project at a nuclear generating station in Salem, NJ. This is a field-focused role, not a design position, and requires a candidate who is comfortable working directly in the plant environment, overseeing and supporting concrete work from the ground up. The ideal candidate is a concrete specialist with a strong understanding of reinforced concrete systems and practical field execution experience in a regulated industrial or nuclear setting.
Responsibilities:
• Provide hands-on field engineering support for concrete-related scope associated with the moisture separator project.
• Oversee and support rebar installation activities, ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Inspect reinforced concrete work in progress, verifying placement, spacing, and securing of rebar prior to concrete pours.
• Coordinate with construction and craft personnel to resolve field issues and maintain schedule.
• Document field conditions, inspection results, and any non-conformances identified during concrete construction activities.
• Interface with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure all concrete work meets nuclear quality standards.
Requirements:
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated expertise in concrete construction, with specific hands-on experience in rebar installation and reinforced concrete systems.
• Field engineering experience in an industrial, heavy construction, or nuclear environment - this is not an office or design role.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, rebar placement plans, and construction specifications.
• Familiarity with ACI 318 or equivalent reinforced concrete standards.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access authorization at a nuclear facility.

• Prior experience working on concrete construction or repair projects at a nuclear power plant.
• Knowledge of nuclear QA requirements (10 CFR 50 Appendix B / NQA-1) as applied to civil/structural construction activities.
• Experience with moisture separator, containment, or other safety-related civil structures in a nuclear environment.
• ACI certification (e.g., ACI Field Testing Technician or Concrete Construction Inspector) is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 - 60 lbs.
