Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Mechanical Design Engineer-

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for design changes affecting mechanical equipment and fluid systems including tanks, pumps, valves, piping, filters, heat exchangers, contactors, and utility systems.

Duties:

Prepare mechanical calculations, equipment specifications, piping design inputs, and installation packages.
Support modifications to process equipment, piping systems, mechanical supports, and maintenance access features.
Evaluate pressure boundaries, equipment replacement requirements, material compatibility, and reliability impacts.
Coordinate with process, structural, electrical, and radiological engineering on system interfaces.
Support equipment selection, procurement inputs, installation support, and system turnover.
Participate in field troubleshooting and mechanical design resolution.


Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience with mechanical system design in industrial facilities.
Knowledge of piping and equipment design practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with pumps, valves, tanks, filters, and heat exchangers in process plants.
Familiarity with highly regulated or hazardous operating environments


Other Job Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
