Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Structural Design Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Structural Design Engineer-

The Structural Design Engineer will design and evaluate structural modifications to reinforced-concrete confinement areas, steel-framed support structures, foundations, supports, platforms, and penetrations.

Duties:

Prepare structural calculations, details, specifications, and modification packages.
Evaluate loads from equipment, piping, shielding, platforms, and building modifications.
Support penetrations, embeds, supports, access platforms, and equipment anchorage changes.
Assess impacts to concrete shielding structures, steel framing, roof systems, and shallow foundations.
Coordinate with mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, and radiological engineering.
Support field walkdowns, installation support, and construction issue resolution.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience with industrial or nuclear structural design.
Familiarity with reinforced concrete, structural steel, and modification detailing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with heavily reinforced facilities, industrial structures, or confinement/shielding structures.
PE license or progress toward licensure

Other Job Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
