Position Description:
The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the day-to-day implementation of ISO 9001 QMS, as well as select elements of the nuclear QA program. The individual would work closely with the engineering and project teams. Ideally, candidate would be a hybrid employee in Reston, VA.
Essential Functions:

1. Curates DEI�s Condition Reporting and Corrective Action Report (CAR) system: works with engineers to track and, as applicable, facilitate resolution of reported conditions (��close� CRs)
2. Supports (and eventually leads) internal audits of DEI�s quality programs and external audits/assessments of the select suppliers
3. Supports the technical staff in the development of QMS procedures for key DEI processes
4. Supports/helps drive internal QMS functions (e.g., Management Review Meetings, updates to key internal registers, tracking of quality and other metrics, continuous improvement initiatives)
5. Provides quality oversight of projects that require special augmented quality controls.
Competencies:
1. Strong procedure (or technical) writing skills and strong verbal communication
2. Detail-oriented
3. Flexible and collaborative, with the ability to multi-task
4. Proficient in MS office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
5. Willing to travel up to 15% of the time (e.g., for Customer / supplier visits)
Physical Demands:
This position may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting.
Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:
1. Degree (or greater), preferably in a technical/science field
2. Minimum 5 years of industry experience
3. Prior work in the US commercial nuclear power industry or DOE facilities, and familiarity with the basics of procurement in the nuclear industry, including 10CFR50, 10CFR21, and NQA-1, preferred
4. Experience with ASME code program implementation, preferred
5. Experience performing quality assurance audits / supplier assessments, preferred
