What This Role Offers:
Location: Bellevue, WA or REMOTE
Full-Time | Hybrid | 12-Month Contract High likelihood of extension based on performance and job needs
Schedule: M-F
Pay Rate: $69-$115/hr.

What You'll Be Doing:
Produce robust 3D CAD models that support fast-paced design evolution using advanced SolidWorks modeling techniques and methodologies
Develop, maintain, and review highly complex mechanical and structural designs for advanced Generation IV nuclear reactor systems
Conduct trade studies to evaluate and down-select design solutions
Create and review engineering drawings layout, detail, interface control, and general arrangement per ASME Y14.1 and Y14.5 standards
Perform tolerance stack-up calculations
Check and review drawings for accuracy and conformance to ASME and internal drafting standards via electronic redline process
Use model configurations to support multi-discipline analysis needs including structural, neutronics, thermal-hydraulic, radiological, and safety
Maintain configuration control of models and drawings through PDM/PLM software
Document design progress, changes, and decisions using internal and external collaboration platforms
Contribute to written guidance, drafting standards, and technical presentations and reports
Provide oversight of supplier engineering and manufacturing vendors as needed
What You Bring:
15+ years of demonstrated experience in the design and drafting of complex mechanical systems
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks CAD
Demonstrated expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Proven experience creating and checking fabrication drawings
Experience with tolerance stack-up calculations
Hands-on experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Strong background in mechanical and machine design
Experience using a Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
Nuclear equipment design experience is a plus, but not required
Experience with supplier engineering and manufacturing vendor oversight is a plus, but not required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with minimal direction
Organized and detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting/Design Technology, or related discipline preferred
