Thomas Thor currently has a very long-term contract opening for a Nuclear Piping / Structural Support Engineer that can be performed REMOTELY from your home. Experience with Nuclear support design under ASME Section III.

What This Role Offers:
Location: Remote
Full-Time | Remote | Contract - 12 months, high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs
Schedule: M-F
Salary Range: $69 - $115/hr

Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class NF structural supports including frames, brackets, hangers, and other support elements.
* Develop and maintain design specifications, calculations, load evaluations, and qualification reports in compliance with ASME Section III.
* Prepare engineering design packages including performing or reviewing design calculations for accuracy and code compliance.
* Maintain current knowledge of ASME Section III revisions, NRC guidance, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:
* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; minimum 8 years of equipment/component design experience (M.S. credited as 2 years, Ph.D. as 4 years).
* Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III preferred.
* Deep understanding of structural and seismic design.
* Experience in finite element stress analysis using ANSYS.
* Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
* Familiarity with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
* US citizen or permanent resident.
