Talascend is currently seeking an EHS Technician for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
Overview
The EHS Technician will support environmental health and safety initiatives across project sites in the Texas region, conducting audits, assessments, and providing training to field technicians to ensure compliance and safety best practices.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day EHS support for service activities and projects.
Support and monitor operations to ensure completion of EHS plans.
Conduct audits at customer sites to verify policy and procedure compliance.
Support field service employees at customer sites with immediate EHS guidance.
Execute policies, strategies, and analyze issues using technical experience and analytical thinking.
Interface with EHS team for support and guidance.
Develop strong working relationships with operational teams.
Coordinate incident investigations, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (with a major in health & safety as a desired asset) or a high school diploma with relevant experience and accredited EHS safety training courses.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience supporting EHS initiatives.
Experience in field-based EHS protocols.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Experience of EHS program development, implementation, and leadership, particularly in sectors such as electric power, refining, offshore, or similar industrial fields.
