About this Role
The Waste Management Shipper prepares shipments in accordance with DOT regulations including industrial, hazardous, and radioactive material/waste. This role ensures accurate documentation, packaging, and regulatory compliance for all outgoing waste shipments.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare hazardous and radioactive waste shipments according to regulatory requirements and facility procedures.
Generate and review shipping documentation including manifests, waste profiles, and disposal requests.
Verify packaging, labeling, and container integrity prior to shipment.
Coordinate shipment scheduling with transportation providers and receiving facilities.
Maintain records of waste shipments and transportation documentation.
Ensure shipments meet regulatory standards for hazardous and radioactive material transport.
Conduct inspections and quality checks prior to shipment release.
Assist with inventory tracking and waste storage management.
Collaborate with waste management technicians and coordinators to ensure waste readiness for shipment.

Requirements
Must be willing to work around radioactive materials in compliance with safety protocols.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance, which includes successfully passing a federal drug test and federal background check.
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Desired Qualifications
Formal technical training or certification concerning hazardous waste, radioactive materials, or hazard material shipping regulations is preferred.
Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations (DOT, etc.) preferred.
