DUTIES
The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Planner is responsible for the strategic planning and coordination of all preventive and condition-based maintenance activities within the facility. This role focuses on improving equipment reliability and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of maintenance work. The planner will develop comprehensive work packages, manage necessary permits, and maintain accurate records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This position requires close collaboration with the facility's Reliability Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor to continuously optimize maintenance strategies.
Work Package Development and Management:
•Develop detailed and standardized work packages for preventive maintenance.
•Write clear and concise work instructions, outlining the scope, sequence of tasks, and required resources for each job.
•Identify and list all necessary parts, tools, materials, and specialized equipment required for each work order to ensure craft/technicians have everything they need before a job begins.
•Perform field walk-downs to scope jobs, identify potential hazards, and ensure work packages accurately reflect field conditions.
•Identify all required safety permits for planned maintenance jobs, including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis.
•Incorporate clear safety protocols and hazard analyses into every work package to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
•Ensure timely and accurate close-out of all work packages in the CMMS upon job completion.
•Work in close partnership with the site Reliability Engineer to analyze equipment history and refine PM strategies for critical assets.
•Incorporate feedback from maintenance technicians and supervisors to continuously improve the quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of PM job plans.
•Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a large backlog and balance multiple priorities.
•Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
•Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industrial safety procedures, particularly Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
EDUCATION
High School diploma and 3-5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment, either as a technician, lead, or planner. Hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical systems is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, maintenance practices, and equipment operation.
CMMS Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is essential, preferably SAP
