JOB TITLE: ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER 4000 Greenville, SC

Location: Greenville, SC
Duration: 1 Year with renewable options
Positions Available: 7

JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrical Design Engineer provides technical expertise and performs engineering work supporting electrical system design and project execution. This role serves as a staff engineer responsible for assignments of intermediate complexity within a multi-discipline engineering environment.

The position supports design development, technical analysis, and coordination activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Electrical Design Engineer performs engineering tasks involving analysis, design, and development of electrical systems in support of project objectives.

Responsibilities include developing and reviewing specifications, engineering calculations, and design documents. The role analyzes technical problems and provides solutions in alignment with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.

The engineer works collaboratively with project management, other engineering disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to support project execution and resolve technical issues.

Additional responsibilities include supporting procurement activities such as preparation of scopes of work, evaluation of vendor submittals, and review of technical documentation. The role also provides support during construction by responding to RFIs and assisting with field-related design updates.

The position contributes to project execution by tracking material quantities, assisting with estimates and schedules, and ensuring compliance with approved project scope, cost, and schedule baselines.

WORK HOURS:

A standard 40-hour work week is expected. Additional schedule details will be provided by the client. Overtime may be required to meet project deliverables.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required.

Experience / Skills:

Minimum five (5) years of related electrical engineering experience
Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices
Experience supporting industrial, commercial, or EPC projects
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards, including DOE requirements
Ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Candidate must possess experience with:

Electrical system design including power distribution, lighting, and grounding
Preparation and modification of electrical design drawings and documents
Engineering calculations such as short circuit, voltage drop, and cable sizing
Use of 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools in a multi-discipline environment
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience supporting DOE or Federal Government projects
Nuclear facility experience under NQA-1 requirements
Practical field or construction experience
Experience with electrical design software tools such as ETAP or SmartPlant Electrical
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similar environments
