DUTIES
CSU Test engineer report to the CSU Director/Manager within the Project Management organization. They will provide knowledge, expertise, input training and consultative support for CSU project related activities. CSU participates in testing planning, turnover coordination, material management, quantities, quality control and environment safety and health. This position requires overtime and day/night shift support.
Responsibilities
Ensure support of Commissioning and startup (CSU) duties of installation configuration validation and Test planning and document development.
Schedules and assist planning of CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements for assigned projects.
Prepares equipment test records and pre-op testing binders.
Participates in construction to CSU turnover walkdowns.
Coordinates with the construction field engineer as required to support component/system turnover.
Initiates and track Punchlist developed during testing.
Performs and monitors testing of equipment to assure conformance with requirements and compliance with test procedures.
Ensure work is undertaken safely and activities are supported to meet schedule and cost.
Knowledge and skills
Previous experience of Y-12 procedure, programs and processes.
Previous experience as a CSU test engineer.
In depth knowledge of NFPA-70e
Previous commercial/Department of energy experience, with NQA-1 requirements supporting operational readiness reviews.
Education
Bachelors degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program. [Chemistry, Physics, or related] AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., B.S. degree in engineering or related scientific major; 2 years job-related and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Successful drug screening.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
Requires a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
