We are seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers for long-term EPC project support roles in Greenville, SC and Houston, TX. These positions support large-scale industrial and nuclear-related engineering projects and are available at multiple experience levels depending on qualifications and background.

Pay rates vary by labor category and selected benefits package:

Mechanical Design Engineer: $71 - $85/hr
Mechanical Senior Design Engineer: $92 - $109/hr
Mechanical Principal Design Engineer: $97 - $114/hr
Rates vary depending on selected benefits package.

Position Summary
Mechanical Design Engineers will support the design, analysis, specification, procurement, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment on complex EPC projects. Candidates will work within multi-discipline engineering teams supporting project execution from conceptual design through construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities may include:

Develop and review mechanical specifications and design criteria
Perform engineering analyses and calculations
Support equipment sizing, selection, and specification development
Prepare and review calculations supporting P&ID development
Develop equipment data sheets, equipment lists, and narrative specifications
Coordinate technical issues with engineering disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and project management
Review supplier drawings, vendor data, and technical bid evaluations
Support procurement and subcontract activities
Participate in model reviews and equipment layout reviews
Support fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup activities
Respond to construction RFIs and field changes
Execute work in accordance with project quality, scope, cost, and schedule requirements

Mechanical Design Engineer
Pay Rate: $71 - $85/hr

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of related engineering experience
Experience supporting EPC projects in industrial or commercial environments
Intermediate knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Experience with:
Mechanical systems and equipment design
Equipment specifications and calculations
P&ID development support
Equipment sizing and data sheets
Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk AutoCAD
3D modeling and 2D CADD tools
Ability to support procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities
Preferred Qualifications
DOE or commercial nuclear experience
ASME NQA-1 experience
Practical field experience
Experience with rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, or packaged equipment
Familiarity with Instrumentation & Controls requirements for equipment
Professional Engineer (PE) license

Mechanical Senior Design Engineer
Pay Rate: $92 - $109/hr

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
Minimum 10 years of related engineering experience
Significant EPC project experience on large industrial projects
Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards
Ability to serve as an Area Lead providing guidance to engineers and designers
Experience developing estimates, schedules, progress reports, and staff forecasts
Experience coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, construction, and project management teams
Strong experience with:
Mechanical systems and equipment design
P&ID development
Engineering analyses and calculations
Equipment specification development
3D modeling and CADD tools
Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk AutoCAD
Procurement and subcontract support
Construction support and field changes
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license
DOE or nuclear facility experience
ASME NQA-1 experience
Experience managing or leading large projects
Practical field experience
Intermediate knowledge of:
Finite element analysis
Instrumentation & Controls specifications
Rotating equipment
Metallurgy and welding
Experience supporting projects through full lifecycle execution from conceptual design through commissioning

Mechanical Principal Design Engineer
Pay Rate: $97 - $114/hr

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 15 years of related engineering experience
Significant EPC experience on large industrial projects
Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards
Ability to serve as Supervising Lead providing oversight and direction to engineers and designers
Experience leading complex technical evaluations and engineering solutions
Experience with project forecasting, scheduling, reporting, and material quantity tracking
Advanced experience with:
Mechanical systems and equipment design
P&ID development
Engineering calculations and specifications
Equipment sizing and evaluation
Procurement support and technical bid evaluations
Construction administration and startup support
Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk AutoCAD
3D modeling and multi-discipline coordination
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license
DOE or nuclear facility experience
ASME NQA-1 experience
Demonstrated experience managing and leading large projects
Practical field experience
Advanced knowledge of:
Static and rotating equipment
Finite element analysis
Instrumentation & Controls specifications
Mechanical equipment design through all project phases
Metallurgy and welding
Experience supporting nuclear quality assurance programs and highly regulated facilities
