Estimated pay rates based on experience level and benefits selected:

Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Design Engineer: $83 - $99/hour
Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Senior Design Engineer: $97 - $114/hour
Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Principal Design Engineer: $114 - $133/hour

Long-term engineering project supporting advanced industrial/nuclear process systems. Seeking experienced I&C Design Engineers across multiple levels with backgrounds in complex facility, industrial, power generation, and nuclear process design environments.

Position Summary
These roles will support the design and development of instrumentation and control systems for large-scale industrial and process facilities. Candidates will work within multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting detailed engineering design, system integration, and project execution activities.

Leveling will be determined based on years of experience, technical expertise, leadership capability, project complexity, and ability to independently execute engineering assignments.

General Responsibilities
Prepare and develop I&C engineering design documents, calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
Develop instrumentation and control system design packages
Perform instrumentation sizing, selection, and application reviews
Prepare loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts
Support DCS, PLC, and distributed control system integration activities
Coordinate with electrical, process, mechanical, piping, and project engineering disciplines
Review vendor documentation and integrate vendor data into design deliverables
Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and constructability reviews
Support field engineering, startup, testing, and commissioning activities as required
Ensure compliance with project procedures, client requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards

Job Requirements

Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Design Engineer
Estimated pay rate: $83 - $99/hour

Typical Responsibilities
Execute routine to moderately complex I&C design assignments under general supervision
Prepare engineering deliverables and support design development activities
Coordinate assigned tasks with senior engineering staff
Apply standard engineering practices and procedures to project work
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience in instrumentation and controls design for industrial, power, or process facilities
Familiarity with control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, and DCS platforms
Working knowledge of engineering design tools and drafting platforms

Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Senior Design Engineer
Estimated pay rate: $97 - $114/hour

Typical Responsibilities
Independently perform complex engineering and design assignments
Lead portions of projects or major design scopes
Provide technical guidance and coordination to junior engineers and designers
Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and completeness
Support interdisciplinary coordination and client interface activities
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Advanced experience in I&C engineering and control systems design
Strong knowledge of instrumentation application, system integration, and engineering execution
Experience leading design efforts on large industrial or EPC projects
Ability to independently resolve technical issues and develop engineering solutions

Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Principal Design Engineer
Estimated pay rate: $114 - $133/hour

Typical Responsibilities
Serve as technical lead or subject matter expert for major engineering scopes
Lead complex engineering design efforts across multidisciplinary project teams
Provide technical oversight, mentoring, and strategic engineering direction
Develop and approve advanced engineering solutions and design approaches
Interface with project management, clients, vendors, and senior engineering leadership
Support project execution strategy, design reviews, and high-level technical decision making

Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Extensive experience in I&C engineering and control systems design
Expert-level understanding of instrumentation systems, controls integration, and engineering standards
Proven experience leading large-scale industrial, nuclear, or EPC engineering projects
Strong technical leadership and mentoring capabilities
PE license preferred for principal-level candidates
Preferred Qualifications for All Levels
Previous DOE or commercial nuclear experience
Experience with SmartPlant, SPI/InTools, AutoCAD, or similar engineering software
Experience supporting large EPC or industrial engineering projects
Field engineering or commissioning support experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
