Position Summary
The Senior Implementation Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and oversight of major nuclear plant implementation projects, operational improvements, outage initiatives, digital modernization efforts, and regulatory compliance programs within a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) nuclear generating station. This role requires extensive nuclear operations leadership experience, including an active or previously held Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license, with demonstrated expertise in plant operations, outage coordination, procedure implementation, and cross-functional leadership.
The Senior Implementation Manager serves as the primary interface between operations, engineering, maintenance, training, licensing, regulatory affairs, and corporate leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project execution aligned with NRC requirements, INPO standards, and fleet strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Implementation Leadership
Lead implementation of strategic nuclear plant initiatives including:
Digital control system upgrades
Risk-informed maintenance programs
Human performance improvement initiatives
Procedure and process modernization
Regulatory corrective actions
Plant modifications and capital projects
Develop implementation schedules, milestones, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
Coordinate execution activities during online operations and refueling outages.
Ensure implementation activities comply with:
NRC regulations
Technical Specifications
Site procedures
INPO principles
Nuclear safety culture expectations
Operational Oversight
Provide operational leadership leveraging prior SRO experience in BWR systems and plant operations.
Review operational impacts of plant modifications and implementation activities.
Support operational decision-making during abnormal, transient, or emergent plant conditions.
Evaluate operational readiness for system turnovers, testing, and startup activities.
Interface directly with Operations Shift Managers, Work Control, and Outage Management teams.
Experience
Minimum 10+ years of commercial nuclear power experience.
Minimum 5 years in nuclear operations leadership roles.
Prior or current Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license required.
Direct experience in BWR nuclear plant operations required.
Experience supporting:
Refueling outages
Plant modifications
Implementation programs
Corrective action initiatives
Regulatory projects
Demonstrated leadership of large cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Operations Manager, Shift Manager, or Work Management leadership experience.
Experience with:
Digital modernization projects
Cybersecurity implementation
Fleet standardization programs
Extended Power Uprate (EPU)
FLEX strategies
Fukushima response enhancements
PMP certification preferred.
Experience with utility fleet governance and corporate oversight programs.
