**Work Control Planner 4**
Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a **Work Control Planner 4** position supporting Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.
**Salary:** **$80/hr $90/hr**
**Location:** Los Alamos, NM : 100% Onsite
**Citizenship:** U.S. Citizenship Required
**Work Schedule:** Full-Time
**Clearance:** Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:
* Must have extensive experience developing and/or reviewing work packages.
* Must have experience with maintenance, construction, modification, or operations planning.
* Must be able to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
* Must have experience with work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lockout/tagout procedures.
* Must be able to work **100% onsite in Los Alamos, NM**.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a **DOE Q Clearance**.
* Must be able to climb fixed ladders and support facility walkdowns as needed.
## Impact
The Work Control Planner 4 will support LANL's Work Control organization by developing safe, accurate, and executable work packages for maintenance, construction, operations, and facility modification activities. This role is critical to ensuring work is planned, scheduled, and performed safely, securely, and in compliance with LANL, DOE, and facility requirements.
The selected candidate will support multidisciplinary teams by preparing detailed step-by-step instructions, estimating time/material/labor needs, identifying safety and post-maintenance testing requirements, resolving work restraints, and helping bring work packages to final closure. This position directly supports safe execution in complex facility environments.
## Responsibilities and Duties
* Develop and review work packages for maintenance, operations, construction, and facility modification activities.
* Prepare detailed step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety requirements, testing requirements, and closure documentation.
* Develop time, material, and labor estimates to support planning and execution.
* Review mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological equipment-related work scopes.
* Interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, technical documents, and facility requirements.
* Identify and resolve work restraints that may impact safe and efficient execution.
* Support Integrated Work Management processes to ensure work is planned and performed safely and securely.
* Maintain and update work planning data in computerized maintenance management systems.
* Develop, monitor, validate, and audit performance data, reports, and statistical information.
* Maintain databases and programs used to support performance measurements and reporting.
* Evaluate work control processes, programs, and procedures for improvement opportunities.
* Develop and maintain maintenance policies, processes, procedures, and training materials.
* Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and training to less experienced work control personnel.
* Communicate work control requirements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
## Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and **12 years of related experience**, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to work control, maintenance planning, construction planning, or facility operations.
* High school diploma required under DOE Order 426.2 minimum requirements.
* Extensive experience interpreting mechanical and electrical documents, drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
* Extensive knowledge of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lockout/tagout policies and procedures.
* Experience developing or reviewing work packages involving time, materials, labor estimates, safety requirements, and post-maintenance testing requirements.
* Experience using a computerized work management or maintenance management system to track planning activities.
* Strong ability to conduct research, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions affecting work control and planning.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prepare and present work control reports.
* Ability to work onsite in Los Alamos, NM.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
## Desired Skills
* Experience in nuclear facility maintenance or construction planning.
* Active DOE Q Clearance.
* Knowledge of LANL work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures.
* Experience with work control, materials management, mechanical maintenance, or facility maintenance.
* Experience supporting unique, complex, or highly regulated facilities.
* Ability to mentor junior planners and support training activities.
* Strong understanding of environmental, safety, and compliance requirements affecting work planning.
* Experience with lockout/tagout planning, maintenance procedures, facility walkdowns, and work package closure.
## Education and Experience Requirements
* Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience preferred.
* Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered.
* Post-graduate coursework may be expected at this level.
* Position is subject to DOE Order 426.2 requirements for personnel selection, training, and qualification for nuclear facilities.
## Work Environment
This position is **100% onsite in Los Alamos, NM**. Work may involve facility walkdowns, climbing fixed ladders, and supporting planning activities in complex operational environments. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
