Local Civil/Structural Designer (Hybrid)

Contract Dates: June 2, 2026 – January 31, 2027
Hourly Rate: $35.00 – $45.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience)
Location: Tonopah, AZ (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY – No per diem / no relocation)
Schedule: Hybrid. Initial onboarding/training is fully on-site. Post-training schedule: Remote Tuesday/Friday; On-Site Wednesday/Thursday.

Critical Job Requirements (No Exceptions)
Location: Must reside within daily commuting distance of Tonopah, AZ.

Experience: 3–6 years of progressive civil/structural design drafting experience.

Software: Proven, hands-on proficiency in both Autodesk AutoCAD and Bentley MicroStation.

Industry: Heavy industrial, utilities, substations, or power generation background. (Nuclear experience is NOT required).

Education: High School Diploma/GED + minimum 2 years of technical/college CADD coursework (or equivalent field experience).

Core Duties & Technical Deliverables
Execute detailed civil/structural 2D drafting and 3D modeling.

Develop construction drawings: foundation plans, structural steel framing, concrete reinforcement (rebar) detailing, site grading, and drainage plans from engineering sketches.

Prepare Plant Design Change Packages, Design Change Notices (DCNs), and Bills of Materials (BOM).

Interpret P&IDs, Isometrics, flow diagrams, and structural/pipe specifications.

Perform site walk-downs to verify field conditions and provide material/cost estimates.

Adhere strictly to AISC, ACI, ANSI codes, and client layering/drafting standards.

Preferred Assets
Experience with Revit or Civil 3D.

Familiarity with ProjectWise document management.
