Work Location: Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN), Soddy Daisy, TN
Estimated Duration: Initially One Year
TVA Per Diem: $1,500 / month
Position Description:
Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, direction, management, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects according to specifications, within budget cost from initiation through completion.
The Senior Project Manager leads Joint Project Teams (JPTs), applies professional principles, practices and techniques to lead project teams and control project schedule, cost and performance risk to ensure projects are completed within a certain set of restraints (e.g., time, budget, people, quality, materials) and a high level of quality.
This role is generally assigned large multifaceted projects and serves as the single point of contact regarding a specific project while assuming the leadership role in safely managing the project.
Key Responsibilities
• Overall planning, direction, management, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects
• Lead Joint Project Teams (JPTs)
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, quality, materials and performance risks
• Serve as the single point of contact for assigned projects
• Safely lead and manage large multifaceted projects from initiation through completion
• Ensure projects are completed according to specifications and within budget
Budget Responsibility
Candidates must demonstrate the capability to manage:
• Large project budgets over $25 million, OR
• A portfolio of projects with an aggregate total exceeding $75 million across all active assigned projects
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Technical Field
OR
• Equivalent education, training and/or related work experience
Preferred Education
• Master's Degree preferred but not required
Required Qualifications
• Senior-level Project Management experience
• Experience leading large multifaceted projects
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, costs and risks
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
• Experience serving as the primary point of contact for major projects
• Ability to manage projects from initiation through completion
• Ability to manage project budgets exceeding $25 million or portfolios exceeding $75 million
Certification / Licensing
Required
• Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) within one year of appointment or assuming the Senior PM position
Preferred
Demonstrated desire to excel in a professional field of study through certification/licensure such as:
• PE (Professional Engineer)
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
• CFP (Certified Financial Planner)
• Other professional certifications or licenses
