Position Overview
EGS is seeking a Principal Business Analyst - Cost Controls to provide senior-level financial, project controls, and government compliance support for programs and operations at the Savannah River Site.

This position serves as a senior advisor to SRNS, DOE, and NNSA leadership, providing strategic guidance related to project controls, financial analysis, cost management, planning and scheduling, government compliance, and business operations. The selected candidate will support highly complex programs and initiatives while providing leadership, mentoring, and technical expertise to project controls, financial, and business management personnel.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR), and government contractor accounting practices. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to influence decision-making across multiple organizations and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Financial Management & Cost Controls
Provide strategic leadership and guidance related to cost controls, financial analysis, planning, scheduling, and project controls activities
Develop and maintain project baseline plans, milestone schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and spend plans
Analyze financial, business, and project performance data to support executive decision-making
Perform complex financial analyses and develop recommendations to improve project and organizational performance
Evaluate business processes and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement
Support risk analysis activities and recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies
Government Compliance & Accounting
Apply expert knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Provide guidance on complex government compliance and accounting matters
Assist with preparation and maintenance of Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) Disclosure Statements
Support preparation, review, and analysis of Incurred Cost Submissions
Interface with government auditors and regulatory organizations regarding financial and compliance matters
Support audits, reviews, and compliance assessments involving DCAA, GAO, OIG, DOE, and other regulatory entities
Leadership & Business Advisory Services
Serve as a trusted business and financial advisor to project teams, management, executive leadership, and government customers
Provide technical direction, mentoring, coaching, and training to financial analysts, project controls specialists, and planning/scheduling personnel
Lead development and delivery of training related to financial controls, project controls, cost management, and business systems
Prepare and present financial and project information to senior and executive leadership
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and support strategic business initiatives
Process Improvement & Strategic Planning
Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance compliance, efficiency, and financial performance
Participate in organizational and cross-functional projects focused on business improvement initiatives
Support development of new business strategies, processes, and technologies
Analyze complex business issues and develop innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
One of the following combinations is required:

Master's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technical discipline, or related field with 15 years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technical discipline, or related field with 18 years of relevant experience
Associate's degree with 20 years of relevant experience
High School Diploma/GED with 22 years of relevant experience
Required Skills & Experience
Expert-level knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
Expert-level knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Strong understanding of Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR)
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience negotiating complex FAR and CAS issues with government agencies
Experience supporting government contractor accounting and compliance activities
Experience interacting with government audit organizations such as DCAA, GAO, OIG, or similar entities
Advanced proficiency with accounting, cost management, estimating, and scheduling systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive communication skills
Experience leading teams and mentoring financial or project controls personnel
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of government contractor accounting compliance experience
Experience supporting DOE, NNSA, or federal government programs
Experience preparing CASB Disclosure Statements
Experience supporting Incurred Cost Submissions
Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, and cost management systems within a government contracting environment
Previous experience supporting large DOE or federal projects
Work Environment
Part-time position with up to 40 hours per week
Telework available up to two days per week with management approval
No travel anticipated
