Position Overview
EGS is seeking a Senior Project Construction Manager to lead construction execution, subcontract strategy, and project delivery activities supporting major capital projects and maintenance initiatives at the Savannah River Site.
This position is responsible for managing multiple complex, multi-million-dollar construction projects critical to site operations from conceptual design through construction completion and turnover. The selected candidate will provide leadership for construction execution, subcontract administration, project controls integration, risk management, and construction planning activities while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
The successful candidate will possess extensive construction management experience, a strong understanding of subcontract strategy and administration, and demonstrated expertise supporting large capital projects in highly regulated industrial, nuclear, or government environments.
Responsibilities
Construction Project Leadership
Manage all phases of construction projects and maintenance activities from conceptual design through project completion
Maintain responsibility for project safety, quality, schedule, cost, and technical performance
Lead construction organizations and matrix personnel supporting project execution
Establish project priorities, objectives, and performance expectations
Develop and implement construction execution strategies that support successful project delivery
Provide leadership and oversight for multiple construction initiatives and assigned project teams
Construction Planning & Execution
Support construction involvement throughout conceptual design, detailed design, construction, turnover, and closeout phases
Lead constructability reviews and provide Title II construction support to capital projects
Develop innovative construction approaches and strategies to improve project performance
Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate project impacts
Analyze complex construction issues and develop solutions that support project objectives
Cost, Schedule & Project Controls
Establish and manage project cost, schedule, and technical baselines
Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as necessary
Coordinate with project controls, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to achieve project milestones
Support development of project schedules, execution plans, and performance metrics
Provide detailed project status reporting to management and customers
Subcontract & Acquisition Management
Develop acquisition strategies for subcontracted construction and design-build projects
Support development and administration of large construction contracts
Provide oversight and management of subcontractor execution activities
Review and improve subcontract management processes, procedures, and standards
Support development and standardization of subcontract documentation
Coordinate subcontractor performance, compliance, and project integration activities
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and review boards
Mentor and develop project personnel while supporting workforce planning and resource allocation
Deliver presentations and status updates to senior management, customers, and project stakeholders
Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, procurement, and project controls organizations
Foster a work environment focused on safety, quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
One of the following combinations is required:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 15–17 years of practical construction experience
Associate's degree with 17–19 years of practical construction experience
High School Diploma/GED with 19–21 years of practical construction experience
Required Skills & Experience
Extensive experience managing large construction projects and maintenance activities
Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
Experience developing and evaluating construction execution strategies
Experience with project cost management, scheduling, and project controls
Knowledge of subcontract administration and construction contracting processes
Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex project environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing large construction contracts for DOE or line-item capital projects
Experience supporting subcontract management or STR programs at Savannah River Site
Experience developing subcontract management policies, procedures, and standards
Experience supporting large capital construction projects in DOE, nuclear, or highly regulated environments
Active DOE L or Q Clearance within the past two years preferred
