Allied Power Services is seeking a Director of EPU to support the power uprate project for their Nuclear contract in Illinois.
Nuclear experience required.
Position Description:
The director of operations, EPU position oversees EPU work at one or more nuclear power plants owned by company clients.
Essential Functions:

1. Manages personnel at nuclear facilities to ensure that operations are conducted in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
2. Ensures standards for safety, quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production. Ensures fixed assets are preserved. Initiates recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property.
3. Develops, monitors, and reports on financial operating proposals, budgeting and costs within functional areas. Alerts management of cost and labor over run. Makes recommendations and implements solutions to problems related to same.
4. Advises company executives, personnel on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances, etc. Ensures personnel and supervises are adhering to company policy and administering practices in fair and equitable manner.
5. Manages budget and controls expenses effectively.
6. Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with human resources as appropriate.
7. Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to traverse nuclear plants both inside and outside containment areas. Position may require travel to sites within the United States.
Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:
1. Prefer a Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in business administration, industrial engineering or related field.
2. 10 or more years of experience with nuclear work control, project controls, site management or maintenance.
3. Knowledge of industrial engineering, human resources laws and regulations, and employee relations skills.
