System One is hiring a Nuclear Engineering Program Developer who will be focused on the development of nuclear power plant engineering programs and the creation of the associated procedures. In this role, you will act as an Engineering Program Specialist for our client’s advanced nuclear reactor projects or other highly technical projects. This position requires a high potential individual who will focus on incorporating regulations and industry best practices into programs for a first of a kind commercial reactor design. This is a fully remote, long-term contract role.
Tasks
Develop engineering program documents from existing project engineering deliverables to support the long-term operation of the nuclear power plant.
Develop and review procedures.
Responsible for coordinating with a geographically diverse design team to develop supporting plant procedures.
Provide inputs on plant level and system level requirements, specifications, and strategy documents related to plant operations and maintenance activities over the lifecycle of a nuclear facility
Apply Engineering principles, methods, and tools to the design of nuclear and industrial facility and its systems and operations.
Support design reviews and resolution of cross functional technical concerns as a Subject Matter Expert in the assigned engineering program areas.
Support teammates and contractors in the plant development efforts.
Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.
Key Qualifications and Skills
B.S. degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
7+ years direct experience in commercial nuclear experience engineering programs is required.
Experience developing nuclear plant engineering programs and procedures, such as IST, ISI, Maintenance Rule, etc is required.
5+ years direct experience in commercial nuclear experience engineering design is preferred.
Senior Reactor Operator qualification or equivalent; Shift Technical Advisor qualification is preferred.
Experience writing nuclear power plant procedures based upon the plant design bases analyses is preferred.
Procedure writing experience or PPA certification is preferred.
Knowledge of the implementing requirements for and licensing basis criteria for nuclear work control, maintenance strategies, and engineering programs.
Scheduling experience with P6 software is preferred.
Strong understanding of the nuclear regulations, plant work control processes, operational design philosophies, and industry documents, such as NEI 18-04.
Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills, including periodic training development and presentation.
Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.
Candidate must be a high potential, self-starter and possess ability to coordinate and lead a design team’s effort with minimal direction.
Ability to handle projects that include many competing objectives and design constraints, with ability to resolve conflicts between objectives.
Ability to work on tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
