We are seeking experienced Tool Technicians / BWR Pole Handlers to support refueling outages at commercial nuclear power plants.
Setting up and maintaining specialized tooling used to access and remove/install lower core barrel bolts.
Assembling underwater tooling, fixtures, torque tools, lifting devices, cameras, and positioning equipment.
Performing pre-job functional checks and mockups.
Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues with tooling during the evolution.
Assisting with reactor vessel and internals handling activities.
Supporting bolt removal, bolt installation, tensioning, and verification activities.
Working closely with reactor engineers, field supervisors, quality personnel, and radiation protection.
Maintaining tooling records and ensuring equipment complies with nuclear QA requirements.
The skill set requires:
Reading mechanical drawings.
Using precision measuring tools.
Troubleshooting equipment under schedule pressure.
Rigging and lifting knowledge.
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Working in radiological areas and following strict procedures.
Reactor vessel internals work.
Critical path outage activities.
High-quality nuclear documentation requirements.
Specialized remote and underwater tooling.
