Position Overview
EGS is seeking an Advisory Engineer - Project Engineer to provide senior engineering leadership supporting complex engineering, design, and capital project activities at the Savannah River Site.

This position is responsible for providing overall engineering and design leadership for major projects while integrating multidisciplinary engineering resources to achieve technical, cost, quality, and schedule objectives. The selected candidate will oversee engineering execution, establish project baselines, coordinate engineering disciplines, manage project priorities, and provide technical direction throughout all phases of project development and execution.

The successful candidate will possess extensive engineering and project leadership experience, demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, and expertise in engineering project execution, project controls, EVMS, and engineering management within highly regulated industrial or DOE environments. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills while serving as a technical mentor and trusted advisor to project teams and management.

Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Project Management
Provide overall engineering and design leadership for assigned projects and engineering programs.
Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve project objectives related to safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Establish engineering design criteria, project priorities, resource forecasts, and engineering execution strategies.
Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure engineering deliverables meet established milestones.
Manage engineering activities using SRNS engineering processes and project management methodologies.
Engineering Integration
Coordinate engineering resources across multiple disciplines to support successful project execution.
Establish engineering baselines and manage engineering work requests.
Integrate engineering, project controls, document control, procurement, and quality organizations into project execution.
Support development of future engineering projects and long-range planning initiatives.
Resolve conflicts between project objectives and functional engineering priorities.
Project Controls & Cost Management
Monitor engineering budgets, schedules, and project performance.
Evaluate cost and schedule variances and implement corrective actions.
Support engineering planning utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools.
Review engineering cost accounts supporting procurement of engineered equipment and materials.
Recommend subcontract authorizations and baseline changes for engineering activities.
Support project forecasting and engineering resource planning.
Technical Oversight
Review engineering deliverables for technical quality and completeness.
Evaluate subcontractor engineering performance to ensure compliance with technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
Establish project scope and verify customer requirements are fully defined.
Participate in engineering reviews, technical evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives.
Represent engineering organizations during project meetings, management reviews, and technical discussions.
Leadership & Mentoring
Provide administrative guidance and technical leadership to engineering leads and managers.
Mentor junior engineers and support professional development initiatives.
Build and develop high-performing engineering teams capable of supporting complex projects.
Foster collaboration across engineering, operations, maintenance, construction, quality assurance, and project controls organizations.
Promote continuous improvement, engineering excellence, and technical innovation.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
One of the following combinations is required:

Ph.D. in Engineering or applicable scientific discipline with approximately 15 years of relevant experience.
Master's degree with approximately 17 years of relevant engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree with approximately 21 years of relevant engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree must be in Engineering or the candidate must possess current Professional Engineer (PE) registration.

Extensive experience providing engineering leadership for complex engineering and design projects.
Experience integrating multidisciplinary engineering resources supporting project execution.
Experience establishing engineering design criteria, resource forecasts, schedules, and engineering tools.
Experience providing administrative guidance to engineering leads and project managers.
Experience managing engineering priorities, project schedules, and engineering task execution.
Experience managing engineering administration, project controls, document control, and quality engineering organizations.
Experience evaluating engineering subcontractor performance and technical deliverables.
Experience establishing engineering baselines and managing engineering work requests.
Experience evaluating project cost and schedule performance and implementing corrective actions.
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering organizations and resolve complex technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in any U.S. state.
Previous DOE or NNSA engineering experience.
Active DOE L or Q Clearance within the past two years.
Experience supporting large capital construction or nuclear engineering projects.
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations in highly regulated environments.
