Pay range: $55-$105 based off years of experience
Location: Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Station
Length: Long-term contract, as of now we have work lasting 10 years.
Per diem is offered for candidates outside of 100 miles of the work location.

Overview:
We are seeking Mechanical Engineers at multiple experience levels (Engineer I, Engineer II, Engineer III, and Senior Engineer) to support engineering, design, plant modifications, and capital improvement projects at a commercial nuclear power plant. These positions will provide engineering support for the evaluation, design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems that are critical to the safe and reliable operation of the facility.

Successful candidates will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, project management, and design organizations to develop engineering solutions, support plant modifications, perform technical analyses, and ensure compliance with NRC regulations, industry codes, and plant procedures.

Engineers will support projects throughout the full lifecycle, including conceptual design, engineering evaluations, calculations, design changes, procurement support, installation, testing, startup, and project closeout.

· Perform engineering evaluations, calculations, and technical analyses for plant mechanical systems.
· Develop, review, and implement engineering change packages supporting plant modifications and capital projects.
· Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, design documents, and supporting analyses.
· Support troubleshooting efforts for plant equipment and system performance issues.
· Perform plant walkdowns to verify field conditions and support engineering design activities.
· Coordinate with engineering firms, vendors, operations, maintenance, and project management personnel.
· Review vendor documentation, engineering calculations, drawings, and procurement specifications.
· Support design reviews, acceptance reviews, and field implementation activities.
· Monitor project schedules, budgets, and engineering deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
· Ensure engineering work complies with NRC regulations, industry standards, company procedures, and applicable engineering codes.
· Provide technical support during outages, maintenance activities, testing, and startup.
· Assist in developing long-term equipment reliability improvements and plant modernization initiatives.
· Support root cause evaluations, corrective actions, and equipment reliability programs.
· Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on larger engineering projects (Engineer III/Senior levels).

Engineer I
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem-solving techniques.
Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations under direction.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Engineer II
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
Experience supporting engineering design, plant modifications, or industrial facilities.
Ability to independently perform engineering assignments with limited supervision.

Engineer III
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
Experience leading moderately complex engineering projects and plant modifications.
Ability to provide technical direction and mentor junior engineers.

Senior Mechanical Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience where applicable).

Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong technical leadership, project management, and mentoring abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous commercial nuclear power plant experience.
Standard Design Process (SDP) qualification preferred.
Experience supporting engineering change packages and plant modification programs.
Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, NRC regulations, and applicable nuclear industry codes and standards.
Experience supporting capital projects, engineering design, equipment upgrades, and plant modernization initiatives.
Familiarity with engineering calculations, system design, equipment qualification, and design verification.
Experience performing plant walkdowns and field engineering support.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Desired Experience
Candidates with experience supporting any of the following mechanical systems are highly desirable:
Pumps and valves
Heat exchangers
HVAC systems
Piping systems
Reactor support systems
Turbine and balance-of-plant equipment
Mechanical equipment reliability programs
Capital engineering projects
Plant upgrades and modifications
Outage support and engineering implementation
