Some of the most demanding STRESS ENGINEEERING problems in the world exist inside next-generation nuclear reactors. If you want to work REMOTELY from home applying advanced finite element analysis to components, this role puts you at the center of it.
What this role offers:
Location: Remote
Full-Time, Remote, Contract - 12 months, high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $56.00 - $95.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical analyses of reactor structures, systems, and nuclear island components to verify performance against ASME BPVC, ASCE, and AISC code limits
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary engineering team to establish and optimize nuclear component designs
Conduct seismic analysis of equipment and components, including response spectrum and time-history modeling per ASCE 4/ASCE 43
Perform structural, buckling, thermal, and creep-fatigue/inelastic analyses
Qualifications:
BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Civil Engineering (8+ yrs with BS, 5+ with MS, 3+ with PhD)
Proficient in finite element stress analysis using ANSYS (Workbench and/or APDL) and SolidWorks
Strong understanding of solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and fatigue failure
Working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section III/VIII and B31.1/B31.3 piping codes
Experience with quality assurance standards (ASME NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, ISO-9000)
Familiarity with AISC N690, AISC 360, AWS D1.1/D1.6 desired
