NOW HIRING – Senior Fuel Handling & Dry Storage System Engineer

Location: Remote (Offsite)
Pay Rate: $52.00 - $85.00/hour
Position Type: Long-Term Contract

System One is seeking an experienced Senior Fuel Handling & Dry Storage System Engineer to support advanced nuclear energy projects. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and qualification of spent fuel handling systems, spent fuel pools, and dry cask storage equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Design spent fuel pool systems, dry cask storage equipment, and fuel handling systems.
Develop engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, design basis documents, and technical reports.
Lead and participate in engineering design reviews.
Review thermal, structural, seismic, shielding, and criticality analyses.
Apply ASME BPVC, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA, and other applicable engineering codes and standards.
Support engineering evaluations and system qualification activities.
Analyze and incorporate nuclear regulatory requirements into system designs.
Coordinate with mechanical, civil, I&C, and nuclear engineering teams.
Manage technical interfaces with equipment vendors and suppliers.
Support fabrication, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
Provide engineering support for Safety Analysis Reports (SAR) and licensing activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
Experience designing or supporting nuclear fuel handling systems, spent fuel pools, dry cask storage systems, or comparable mechanical systems.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Ability to manage multiple engineering priorities and resolve technical issues.
Experience working under quality programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.

Preferred Qualifications

Commercial nuclear power or advanced reactor experience.
Experience with radiological controls.
Knowledge of NRC licensing and regulatory requirements.
Experience supporting fabrication, commissioning, startup, or system qualification.
Familiarity with Safety Analysis Reports (SAR).
Vendor oversight and supplier management experience.
