Sr. Electrical/Instrumentation Drafter
Work Location: Onsite in Torrance, CA (occasional travel to Utah)
Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate's requested rate
Per Diem: GSA Rates
Hours: 40+
The required qualifications are as follows:
• Senior-level drafting experience in electrical/instrumentation disciplines (experienced and able to jump in immediately)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or E-Plan Pro Panel (cabinet design)
• Experience using Aveva as an engineering data management platform
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving design environment
• Willing to work heavily in-person; role is not remote-friendly
• Prior industrial, process, or nuclear plant drafting experience preferred
Position Details:
Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Drafters will support Valar Atomics' design engineering team in producing detailed electrical and instrumentation drawings and cabinet layouts for an advanced nuclear reactor build. This is a heavily in-person role supporting a fast-paced, procurement and design schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce and revise electrical and instrumentation drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
• Support layout for control system integration
• Maintain drawing sets within Aveva engineering data management platform
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement to keep drawing packages on schedule
• Support design through detailed design, cabinet integration, and final commissioning phases
• Work directly on-site with design and construction teams (Torrance and Utah)
