Thomas Thor currently has a contract opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist that can primarily performed remotely from your home. This individual will provide support our client's quality assurance program through audits, surveillances, and procedure development. This work is with a client in the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design and build industry.

This is a part-time, as-needed contract position anticipated to last throughout 2026 and possibly into 2027. Work may be performed remotely within the contiguous United States, with travel as required for business needs.

What This Role Offers:
Location: Remote (Contiguous U.S.)
* Part Time/ As Needed | Remote | Contract
* Length: Through 2026, with potential extension into 2027 based on business needs
* Schedule: Monday-Friday as needed
* Compensation Range: $60.00 -$70.00 per HOUR

Responsibilities:
* Participate in supplier qualification surveys, implementation audits, and surveillances
* Conduct internal quality assurance audits, surveillances, and assessments; lead or participate in causal analyses
* Support development, evaluation, and maintenance of QA program processes, instructions, and procedures
* Review Level 2 and higher procedures for compliance with the Quality Management Plan (QMP) and QAPD
* Serve as a subject matter resource for nuclear quality assurance across the organization

Qualifications:
* B.S. or B.A. degree preferred, but 10+ years of directly applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
* 5+ years of experience in development and/or implementation of nuclear quality assurance programs
* Commercial nuclear plant experience or work in the nuclear field preferred
* Demonstrated experience in quality oversight
* Previously certified Lead Auditor in an NQA-1 or 10 CFR 50 Appendix B program preferred
* Ability to certify as a Lead Auditor within one year of hire
