SIDE Partnership, LLC is seeking an experienced Nuclear Cost Estimator to support major commercial nuclear project work.

We are specifically seeking professionals with commercial nuclear estimating experience who understand the unique requirements of estimating work performed in an operating nuclear environment. This is an opportunity to bring your nuclear estimating expertise to a remote position supporting major nuclear projects.

Position Overview

The Senior Nuclear Cost Estimator will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining detailed cost estimates for commercial nuclear projects. The position will work closely with project controls, engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams to develop accurate and well-supported estimates throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a primarily remote position, with occasional travel to nuclear sites in Georgia and Alabama based on project needs. Initial training and certain project activities may require time on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed estimates for commercial nuclear projects, plant modifications, maintenance, construction, and project work
• Analyze drawings, specifications, work packages, engineering documents, and project scope to develop estimates
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other direct and indirect costs
• Prepare estimates for new work, modifications, changes, and project scope development
• Review estimates for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
• Develop and document assumptions, exclusions, clarifications, and basis of estimate
• Support project controls activities including cost analysis, forecasting, and change control
• Participate in estimate reviews with project management, engineering, construction, and other stakeholders
• Apply commercial nuclear industry knowledge to identify scope, cost, and execution considerations
• Maintain estimating documentation and supporting records

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated commercial nuclear estimating experience
• Experience developing detailed estimates for nuclear plant work, modifications, outages, construction, maintenance, or other commercial nuclear projects
• Strong understanding of nuclear project execution and the cost drivers associated with work performed in a commercial nuclear environment
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, work packages, and other technical project documentation
• Experience developing labor, material, subcontractor, and construction cost estimates
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with nuclear project controls or cost engineering
• Experience with Primavera P6 or other scheduling/project controls software
• Experience with CostX, WinEst, InEight, or other estimating platforms
• Experience with estimate reviews, change control, or forecasting
• Experience supporting major nuclear modifications or outage work

Compensation & Benefits

• $65–$100 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
