Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant, and successful execution of nuclear power projects from planning and contract handoff through engineering, procurement, fabrication/construction, testing, delivery, and project closeout. This position provides overall leadership for project scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and customer relationships while ensuring work is performed in accordance with applicable nuclear quality requirements, regulatory requirements, contractual commitments, and company procedures.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing complex projects within the nuclear power industry and will hold an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Key Responsibilities
Lead nuclear projects from contract award through final completion and closeout.
Establish and maintain project execution plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, milestones, and deliverables.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and coordinate communication among engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing/construction, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
Manage project scope and identify, document, negotiate, and execute changes in accordance with contractual requirements.
Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, committed costs, actual costs, forecasts, cash flow, and margin.
Identify project risks and opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation or recovery plans.
Manage project schedules, critical-path activities, resource requirements, and schedule recovery efforts when necessary.
Coordinate engineering deliverables, material procurement, supplier activities, fabrication/construction, testing, documentation, shipment, and site support as applicable.
Ensure project activities comply with applicable nuclear quality assurance requirements, procedures, codes, standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
Work closely with Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel to address inspection requirements, nonconformances, corrective actions, documentation, and customer hold or witness points.
Manage suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical, quality, schedule, and commercial requirements are achieved.
Conduct project kickoff meetings, customer progress meetings, internal project reviews, and executive status reviews.
Prepare accurate project status reports covering safety, quality, schedule, cost, risks, opportunities, changes, and required management actions.
Maintain complete and accurate project records, correspondence, contractual documentation, and turnover documentation.
Support resolution of technical, commercial, contractual, and schedule issues throughout project execution.
Coordinate project closeout, including final documentation, outstanding commercial items, lessons learned, and customer acceptance.
Promote a strong nuclear safety culture and reinforce expectations for safety, quality, procedural compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressively responsible project, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or operations experience, with significant experience supporting the nuclear power industry.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects involving engineering, procurement, manufacturing/fabrication, construction, or field services.
Working knowledge of nuclear industry quality and regulatory expectations.
Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasts, risks, change orders, and customer relationships.
Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial project management.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a highly regulated environment.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and customer-facing communication skills.
Proficiency with project scheduling, ERP, document-control, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering degree and/or previous technical experience in mechanical, electrical, structural, power generation, or related disciplines.
Experience with commercial nuclear power plant projects, modifications, equipment replacement, maintenance, or major component projects.
Familiarity with applicable requirements and standards such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME Section III, and other nuclear codes and standards relevant to the assigned scope.
Experience working within an NQA-1/Appendix B quality assurance program.
Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling systems.
Experience with earned value, cost forecasting, and project controls.
Experience managing nuclear-qualified suppliers and subcontractors.
Familiarity with NRC-regulated facilities and nuclear utility customer requirements.
