Job Description
Mechanical Planner
Location
Onsite at nuclear power facilities, with initial opportunities supporting sites in Michigan Illinois and North Carolina.
Outage schedule rotations and site-based work are required.
Overview
This opportunity supports nuclear power generation facilities executing design changes, plant modifications, and major mechanical work scopes.
The Mechanical Planner develops detailed, field-ready work packages that guide vendor resources through safe, compliant implementation while coordinating with engineering, operations, work management, and field supervision.

Core Responsibilities
Develop detailed mechanical work instructions and work packages for nuclear design changes, modifications, and major work scopes using client-approved systems and procedures.
Perform field walkdowns and review engineering changes to improve work package accuracy, constructability, and execution readiness.
Coordinate with vendor supervisors, work management, operations, and engineering to identify and resolve work package issues.
Determine required materials and provide procurement recommendations to support successful field execution.
Plan work to meet outage milestones while maintaining compliance with applicable codes, standards, procedures, vendor recommendations, and regulatory requirements.
Must-Have Experience
Minimum 5 years of power plant maintenance or operations experience, including at least 3 years within a nuclear power plant facility.
Hands-on experience developing or supporting mechanical work packages, field work planning, design changes, or plant modifications.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and coordinating technical work across engineering, operations, maintenance, and field teams.

Experience with Action Way or similar Corrective Action Program systems.

Knowledge of nuclear maintenance procedures, applicable codes and standards, and NRC-regulated work environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience supporting nuclear outage planning and execution.
Work Environment
Site-based work at nuclear power facilities, including participation in outage schedule rotations.
Work may involve access to hazardous areas and potential radiation exposure within NRC-prescribed limits.
Candidates must be able to satisfy required criminal background, drug/alcohol screening, and employment testing requirements.
