System Operating Procedures:The Xe-100 System Breakdown Structure [2] will provide the basis for determining which plant systems require a formal operating procedure. Systems with no configurable components will not require a procedure. Complex high-level systems will be broken down into their more manageable subsystems in many cases.
Some systems/subsystems will support all four reactor units. In these instances, one procedure is expected to suffice. These procedures will be designated as a common (C) procedure. Other systems will support individual reactor units. These procedures will designated as a unit-specific (U) procedure.
General Operating Procedures will provide instructions for maneuvering the entire plant from one operating mode or state to another. Each is a unit-specific procedure.
Abnormal Operating Procedures will be grouped by general event category and given a noun name description that is easily identifiable by the operator. Some AOPs will provide actions for multiple events grouped within the same procedure. The events handled by each AOP are listed in the Content column.
Emergency Operating Procedures are unit specific. Each procedure will include an associated background document which provides the basis for each EOP. Background documents will represent the
