Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer
Work Location: Wilmington, NC (onsite)
Rate: Not Defined / need Candidate's requested rate
Hours: 40
Per Diem: GSA rates for Wilmington, NC, varies by month
Mob/Demob: Allowable up to GSA rates
Duration: Up to 2 months
Responsibilities:
• Perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling and simulation to support engineering analysis of process/facility systems.
• Develop, run, and validate CFD models using standard industry software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM).
• Analyze fluid flow, thermal, and/or gas separation behavior relevant to program equipment and processes
• Document methodology, assumptions, and results in technical reports
• Support design reviews and provide engineering recommendations to project engineers
• Collaborate with mechanical, process, and safety engineering staff.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, Chemical, or related engineering discipline
• Demonstrated hands-on CFD experience
• Active DOE Q clearance
• US citizenship.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 - 60 lbs.
