Crane Clean Energy Center (CCEC), Middletown PA

Position Description:
NPower Solutions is seeking an experienced Main Transformer Engineer to support a short-term project at Crane Clean Energy Center. The primary responsibility will be to develop a testing procedure for the plant’s main transformer and provide technical support for transformer testing and evaluation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical knowledge of large power transformers used in utility or power-generation environments and experience developing, reviewing, or executing transformer testing and commissioning procedures.

Schedule:
Start Date: September 2026
End Date: February 2027

Essential Functions:
Develop and write the main transformer testing procedure
Review transformer drawings, specifications, vendor manuals, and previous test data
Define required testing, acceptance criteria, and documentation requirements
Support testing activities and review results
Provide technical guidance on transformer condition, testing, and return-to-service

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Experience with large power transformers, preferably main or generator step-up transformers
Experience writing or reviewing transformer testing/commissioning procedures
Knowledge of transformer testing methods such as DGA, insulation resistance, turns ratio, winding resistance, power factor, and SFRA
8+ years of electrical/power engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications
Previous Constellation/Exelon Nuclear experience
