Drafter (Electrical or I&C) (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid (remote 75%, onsite 25%); Candidates can work in Charlotte, NC; Stonington, CT; 
Estimated Start Date: September 2026
Estimated Duration of Work Assignment: 12 months (potential to extend)
Pay Rate: Up to $50/hour non-exempt
Hours: Standard work week 40 hrs, project may require 10-20 hours OT as needed
Expenses: GSA Expenses for Site or Corporate travel

Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Mid-Level Drafter will be relied upon to apply manual and computerized drafting methods with a working knowledge of the terms and procedures to prepare various electrical and control drawings including wiring diagrams, one-lines, and schematics to represent the electrical design. Drafter, EIC must be able to draft complex drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment as per project requirements. Drafter, EIC must be able to demonstrate the ability to draw complex electrical systems from sketches using appropriate symbology, terms, procedures, and drafting standards. Other responsibilities may include preparation of bills of material, resolution of client comments and as-built drawing preparation. Assignments will be completed utilizing information provided by engineers or design staff under the direction of a supervisor.
 

                                                          
Experience/Educational Requirements: 
Required – Qualifications:
  • Associate?'?s degree in drafting/design/engineering technology ?or equivalent from 2?-?year college or ?technical school?? or equivalent ?job related experience?.
  • (?2 ?years job related experience ?equivalent to ?1-year college?)? is required.
  • One (1) year (minimum) experience in engineering drafting and familiarity with basic drafting techniques is required, in addition to educational requirements.
  • Able to accurately draw complex electrical/controls systems from sketches or ?specifications using appropriate terms?, ?procedures and drafting standards? is required.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques for project requirements is required.
  • Able to produce complex drawings in a ?2?-?D and ?3?-?D environment? is required.
  • All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently.
  • Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required.
  • Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes.
Preferred – Qualifications
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Experience with Laser Scanning tools, total stations, software, and registration is a plus. 

Physical Requirements:  Will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely. Must be able to pass a background and drug screening. Will work mainly in a general office environment but will be required to visit sites. Capable of operating and functioning in a fast-paced work environment. Must possess a vision (corrected or uncorrected) that allows for clear visibility from a distance of 20 inches or less. Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, working at heights, carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous (e.g. high temperatures, high radiation) areas is required.
