Rate: Not defined, need candidate’s expected rate
Hours: 40 Hours per week
Per diem: Expenses in accordance with travel policy
Mob / Demob: Reimbursed in accordance with travel Policy
Trip home: 1 per month after 90 days on site

Project Details: Project Details the Solutions Architect serves as principal architect of large and complex hardware, software, database, networking, and telecommunication solutions. This role determines Laboratory wide requirements and incorporates them into solutions that may be commercial off the shelf (Oracle P6, PIF, WebLogic) or internally developed software and hardware. The Solutions Architect may also be responsible for project management in implementing complex solutions, including oversight of project documentation, marketing, training, budget, schedules, resource utilization, and benefits realization.
The ideal candidate has broad expertise and unique knowledge, and uses that expertise to help shape objectives and achieve goals in creative and effective ways. This person is viewed as an expert in the field within the Laboratory, works on unusually significant and complex issues, and provides highly creative solutions where the evaluation of intangibles is required. This role works under consultative direction toward long range targets, is largely self-initiated, and requires independent judgment in determining the best course of action.
Responsibilities:
- Assures safety and security compliance, maintains required safety and security training, and makes safety and security part of every task, including stopping work if continuing would be unsafe or compromise security
- Adheres to policies, programs, procedures, and practices
- Researches, assembles, and evaluates information regarding industry practices and regulatory changes affecting telecommunications, data management, security, networking, hardware, software development, and systems programming, and recommends practical solutions to complex issues
- Leads complex projects requiring in depth analysis, customer requirements gathering, and cross discipline solution sets
- Researches solutions for complex problems spanning hardware, software development, systems programming, data management, security, networking, telecommunications, and related disciplines
- Provides technical leadership and architectural direction for complex systems
- Integrates strategic thinking into solution design to ensure long term business objectives and impact are factored in
- Formally manages projects from inception through implementation, including documentation and training for users, system administrators, and others who maintain or use the end products
- Fosters a respectful and inclusive work environment free from discrimination and harassment
Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of current and emerging network, data management, security, hardware, software development, and systems programming technologies, including how they interoperate and how to architect complex, enterprise level web application solutions
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Demonstrated team building experience with technologists
- Expert level knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS implementation, administration, maintenance, and end user support
- Strong knowledge of Oracle WebLogic for web applications
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management
- Expert level knowledge of Oracle Project Integration Framework (PIF)
- Experience maintaining environments that integrate project controls such as estimating, schedules, and costs
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Post graduate coursework, professional certifications, or an equivalent combination may also be considered.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting as part of daily job responsibilities. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 – 60 lbs.
