Licensing & Environmental Consultant Nuclear Industry

Play a pivotal role in advancing new nuclear development. We're seeking an experienced Licensing & Environmental Consultant to guide strategic licensing and regulatory approaches for a nuclear generating station's new nuclear development program working directly with reactor technology vendors on foundational licensing documentation.

What this role offers:

Location: Richland, Washington

Full-Time, Hybrid, Contract length: 12 months, high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: 4 x 10's (Monday-Thursday)

Salary Range: $75-$85/hr

Responsibilities:

Interface with the reactor technology vendor and other vendors to manage preparation of licensing documentation, including PSAR and FSAR supporting construction permit and operating license applications

Manage development of technical specifications and the technical requirements manual

Manage development of licensing documents supporting Fire Protection, Emergency Preparedness, Physical Security, Cyber Security, Nuclear Material Control & Accounting, Radiation Protection, ODCM, ISI/IST, and Fitness for Duty

Ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements and is validated against source documentation

Provide technical advice and proactive counsel to management on complex licensing, environmental, and regulatory issues

Interpret and verify industry guidance and regulatory requirements for project-specific application

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

10 years of experience at a nuclear power plant in Regulatory Affairs, Licensing, or Environmental role(s)

Strong understanding of licensing and environmental regulations pertaining to nuclear facilities, including validation of licensing document submittals and requirements for submitting documents under oath or affirmation

Demonstrated ability to conduct technical meetings with regulatory agencies and maintain professional regulatory relationships

Ability to manage effectively in a high-stress, time-constrained regulatory environment
