I & C Engineer

The Staff Specialist develops plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. This role assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed computer system designs, test procedures, and system/equipment interfaces. The position typically serves as a staff advisor and technical consultant within a technical specialty or function.

The successful candidate must be able to interpret, adapt, and apply engineering standards, principles, and techniques to problems involving real-time computer/control systems including digital control systems that are unique, precedent-setting, and lack existing procedural guidance.

May supervise or coordinate the work of a small staff of multidisciplinary engineers, systems analysts, programmer analysts, technicians, and other contributors supporting specific assignments.

Minimum Qualifications
The minimum requirements below meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-2014 standards.

Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited program.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience.
Minimum of 1 year of nuclear power plant experience.
Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate, select, and adapt engineering methods/procedures to resolve complex engineering problems.
Demonstrated proficiency in the skills and proficiencies described in the Overview.


Certifications / License (Preferred)


Professional Engineering (PE) license is desirable.
Membership in a professional engineering society is desirable.
Other Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, potentially requiring 24/7 availability.
Willingness and medical ability to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by site procedures during peak periods.
Willingness to travel to plant locations as required and, when necessary, accept temporary assignment to a field location.
