TVA Per Diem: $1,500 / month

Position Description:
A staff specialist develops plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed computer system designs, test procedures, and system and equipment interfaces. Usually perform as a staff advisor and technical consultant in a technical specialty or function. Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply engineering standards, principles, and techniques to problems and issues involving real time computer/control systems, including digital control systems, that are unique and precedent setting and for which procedural guidance is not available. May supervise or coordinate the work of a small staff of multidiscipline engineers, systems analysts, programmer analysts, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.

Primary Duties:

• Ensuring EPC contractors and OEMs perform work to client’s standards and contract requirements for electrical and I&C scopes primarily.
• Supporting resolution of project technical issues between multiple parties
• Performing site walk downs and factory acceptance testing verifications
• Communicating and coordinating communications on project issues to client project team, contractors, and management as needed
• Development and updating technical specifications
• Capturing lessons learned and best practices

• 
  Minimum Qualifications:
  The minimum requirements below meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-2014 standards.
  
  Education: Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, or chemical engineering from an accredited curriculum.
  
  Experience: Must have at least 2 years of related experience and 1 year of nuclear power plant experience. Demonstrated proficiency in independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering methods/procedures to resolve complex engineering problems. Demonstrated proficiency in the skills and proficiencies listed above.
  
  Certifications/License: Professional engineering license and membership in a professional engineering society are desirable.
  
  Other Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access. Must be able and willing to assume “on-call” rotational assignments which may include 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week availability. Must be willing and medically able to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by TVAN procedures during peak periods. Must be able and willing to travel to plant locations as required when performing assigned tasks and, as necessary, to be temporarily assigned to a field location.
